Episode 344 – Survival Driving (Pt. 1 of 3): 10 "Prep Steps" Vs. A Riot

with Jeff Anderson from https://www.WarriorLife.com/
1. Install Run-Flat Tires
• Run-flat tires give you the ability to keep
moving even if your tires are stabbed or
shot, or you risk damaging your tires while
driving over obstacles.
2. 3M Shatter-Shielding Film
• Rioters and other attackers WILL try to pull
you out of your vehicle if you’re stopped. If
your windows are up, they’ll try to shatter
them in order to reach in and grab you.
3. Do You Have A “Tactical Sun Roof?”
• If you have the option of getting a sun roof,
you might want to. This gives you a way to
get out of the car if you’re overturned.
• You can fire out of a sunroof, or launch
projectiles from it, sometimes more easily
than using the side windows.
4. “Camo” Your Car
• Remove “target stickers” and other
decorations that might paint you as a target.
• You don’t want any political stickers of any
kind, or any other indicators that would tell
people they should target you.
• Add a “baby on board” sign and other things
that might give more reasonable protesters a
reason to back off.
5. Adjust Your Tire Pressure
• I learned from former CIA Officer Jason
Hanson to keep tires inflated 10% under the
tire’s suggested PSI (not the factory
recommendation, but what’s actually on the
tire).
• This produces better handling and better gas
mileage than actually inflating to the tire’s full
pressure recommendation.
6. Adjust Your Mirrors
• A lot of people will adjust their side mirrors
so they can still see the sides of their car.
You don’t need to see the sides of the car.
Adjust your mirrors outside the view of your
vehicle for a wider angle and more visibility.
7. Add A Panoramic Rear View Mirror
• You can buy panoramic mirrors (some of
these just drop down over the existing
mirror) that give you a wider rear field of
view to the rear and even the sides. You
could even install a rear-view camera,
placed high so it won’t become a distraction.
8. Gas Up (Always 1/4-1/3 Full)
• Never let your tank go below 1/4th to 1/3rd
full, and avoid gas stations in unknown
areas. You have no idea how far you might
need to go to get clear!
9. Phone Holder With Bluetooth
• You want a phone mount so you can use
your phone’s GPS in unknown territory. This
also lets you stay on the phone with 911. If
you have no Bluetooth, go with a hands-free
headset. If your car is Bluetooth enabled, so
much the better.
10. Flak Jackets Behind Seats
• Surplus flak jackets aren’t today’s body
armor, but can be used to protect you from
people shooting into the vehicle. Your family
can put them on in dire situations.
