5 Survival Scenarios - 5 Survival Guns
with Jeff Anderson from https://www.WarriorLife.com/
1. Shelter In Place
• Threats include home invaders, civil unrest,
looting, mobs
• Choose a 20-gauge Semi-Auto Shotgun
• Lower recoil than 12 gauge, easier than a
pump shotgun, and more easily handled by
smaller people.
• Use slugs for close-in and shot for longer
ranges or against larger crowds.
• An AR probably isn’t the best choice
because the mob has numbers and could
burn you out. You’ll want to make a big
“bang” to stop them in their tracks.
2. Forced Evacuation Bugout
• When bugging out to a “plan B” location,
threats include beggars who won’t take “no”
for an answer, as well as thieves, bandits,
and carjackers.
• Choose a .22 LR Revolver
• A handgun like this is very concealable.
• The conditions of a collapse or bugout wreak
havoc with a semi-auto firearm.
• .22 Is easier to find and less expensive,
while smaller and lighter, allowing you to
carry more of it with less burden.
• The .22 is also quieter, which will attract less
attention to your location.
3. Long-Term Collapse
• The threat while you’re surviving off the grid
is starvation, so you want a dedicated
survival tool.
• Choose a .22 LR rifle like the Henry Arms
AR-7.
• Small game like rabbits, squirrels, and foxes
will be more plentiful.
• All the advantages of the .22 LR cartridge
still apply, but the AR-8 is small, light, and
compact (and even floats).
• A case could be made for a bolt-action rifle
in a heavier caliber, but it depends on where
you’re going to be, whether deer, elk, and
bear are plentiful, etc.
4. The “Urban Jungle”
• The threat in urban areas is other people.
• Choose a 9mm semi-auto handgun (Glock
17 or 19 preferred)
• You want to be able to conceal your
weapon, but you need better stopping power
and more ammo capacity, too.
5. Survival Team
• The threat is again, other people, including
looters and rioters.
• Choose an AR-15 rifle
• This is the most common rifle among
survivalists, so it makes sense for teams. It’s
dependable, powerful, accurate, has long
range, and has plenty of firepower. Longer
range matters too.
